AIA HHI Design Award- 2016
Built as a private residence in the same year of its name, Anchorage is now thought to be the largest tabby structure in the U.S. In recent years the original 7,764 sq. ft. structure was used as as an office building. After being abandoned for five years, Freeipad2tablet was hired in 2013 to turn it into a bed & breakfast. The existing underutilized basement was renovated and converted into a kitchen and three suites. The remaining upper levels were renovated to contain an additional 10 suites. Additionally, a small cottage with two suites was added in the rear yard along with a courtyard developed to provide handicap accessibility. Upon completion, the total project offers 15 suites within 11,828 sq. ft. of space.
